Dental Care

Dental care for our pets can start when they are very young, the earlier we keep an eye on them, the better.  A full dental check is also performed at your annual health assessments or booster vaccination time.

It’s been estimated that around 85% of dogs over 3 years old have some form of dental issue such as periodontitis!  The following symptoms are signs that your pet may have some dental disease:

  • Bad breath – one of the first signs of dental disease
  • A yellowish-brown crust of plaque on the teeth near the gum line
  • Red and swollen gums
  • Pain or bleeding when your pet eats or something touches the mouth or gums
  • Decreased appetite, weight loss or difficulty eating/chewing

Here at The Vet Clinic, we offer free dental checks for your pet and a full array of dental hygiene services, scaling, polishing and extractions as required. After a dental procedure, using some form of either tooth brushing or enzymatic toothpaste helps prevent or slow down dental decay in the future.
